Why do some people have to
suffer mental illness

through no fault of their own,
nothing they did to deserve it?

I hate the unfairness of that,
as if they’re slighted from birth.

Disadvantaged more than most,
sometimes debilitated.

Of course, some go on to do
great things.

But, why did they have to suffer
mental illness when most do not?

I wish I could wave a magic wand
and rid the world of mental illness.

And set all people with mental health
conditions free permanently.

I don’t believe in a hell per se.
But I can imagine a hell in the afterlife.
Being in a place forever with some
people you didn’t like in this life.
I once read people you don’t like
would be likable in the afterlife.
Somehow I just can’t believe it.
I really don’t think some people
could be changed, even by death.
But I hope I’m mistaken –
just in case.

Many people in this world vanish.
Some are never found.
I’ve heard some do it on purpose.
And I’ve wondered what it would
be like to vanish with a new identity.
I imagine it would be a bit exciting,
like starting a new adventure.
In a way I’ve vanished before
when I relocated from one city
to another city and began a new life.

Often women degrade men
with phrases like toxic masculinity
they should take a look in the mirror
at their toxic femininity and their Missandry
