Adorable
really adorable
with the
the sweetest voice
I ever heard
she had a
crush on me
a gift from God
some could easily
say, if they ever
saw and heard her

but she was only 27
and I was 70
I was born too
early
she was born
too late

alas, as if
cursed by
fate

the gift from
God could
never be.

She delivered my Amazon delivery
today

She placed it in the wrong but
okay location

I didn’t see it in the right place,
so I came out of my apartment building

to look for it and saw her, a beautiful
young African American woman in her Amazon truck

I asked her politely where the delivery was
she said up the flight of stairs in front of the door

(that is the back door up those stairs to the
hallway in which my apartment is located)

she said she couldn’t get the code to work
at the front door

so she hiked up the back stairs and left
the package there, close enough 👍

she offered to get the package and bring
it to me

I said no need, easier for me to just open
the back door

and I don’t want you to have to go back
up those stairs again

I said thank you for the delivery, and
she smiled such a wonderful smile

I said I like your hat (a beautiful orange
hat that looked great)

she smiled and said I like your hat
too, (a burgundy Gatsby hat)

in that brief moment, that fleeting exchange,
she looked absolutely beautiful to me

I felt there was even greater beauty in her
and goodness in her soul

for a fanciful moment, I briefly thought how wonderful
it would have been to be young and with her.

As the moon grows pale
in the passing of the night
so does her beauty
his handsomeness
their lives
as the sun grows bright
in the beginning of the day
death lights up
rejuvenates
her beauty
his handsomeness
their lives
like the moon
full and radiant
in the darkness
the rejuvenating
reborn night.

Damn! the pull of the need for romantic love
is so goddamn, magnetically powerful
even a age 80, occasionally I feel its pull
especially in dreams when I’m with a woman
never erotic, far as I can tell, usually romantic
I think that’s a manifestation of the love bug
in dreams since I don’t pursue it
or have it in the reality of the waking world
though at times in this world I weaken
I think of how nice it would be to have
the company of a woman physically and
mentally attractive and entertaining to me
when it’s good, it’s heavenly, when it’s bad
it’s like hell, or at least, close to it. 🙂

The chaotic movement of objects
all about a room
no sightings of ghosts
no eerie sounds
no chilling of the air
not an angry spirit
psychics cannot discern it
a living agent
a person’s unconscious
the unnatural cause of it
connected to girls
and young women
the Poltergeist phenomena.

Bob Boyd

She reclines next to a mountain
looking so serene and so beautiful
which is all many men will see of her
she is far more than the superficial
her mind is a world of wonders
she’s lovelier inside than any other
she’s like a goddess of unsurpassed
wisdom, wit and, above all, love
pity few men will ever know her
or be worthy of her immeasurable love
and all the treasures within her.

Jack and Jill went up a hill
Jack came down without her
Jack called the police
said Jill went missing
maybe one of those 411’s
police considered Jack
a person of interest
but had no body to
prove he murdered her
Jack said he saw the
Mad Hatter up there
thought he might have
murdered Jill, bat crap
crazy as Hatter was
Hatter had an alibi
in Wonderland having
tea with Alice and
the Cheshire cat
off the suspect hook
a week later a UFO
spotted above the hill
Jill came down the hill
immediately after that
confessed to running
away from Jack to have
a fling with a handsome,
debonair Nordic alien
case closed.

Original Nursery Rhyme

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water;
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
and Jill came tumbling after.

Up Jack got, and home did trot,
As fast as he could caper,
To old Dame Dob, who patched his nob
With vinegar and brown paper.

When witch bottles
were in fashion
in the 17th century
protections against
evil spells and witches

a priest, Father Artemus,
schooled in occult sciences
heard many complaints
that the bottles of urine,
pins, needles and salt
didn’t work

he conjured up
a potent formula,
put it in a witch bottle

when left opened in
a house at night
would capture
a witch’s spirit
the witch’s body
would burn
to ashes

but his improved
witch’s bottle
vanished forever
7 days after he
invented it

the written formula
never found
father Artemus’s body
burned to ashes
a witch riding a broom
under a full moon
cackling and holding
his potent witch bottle.

Bob Boyd

When it was believed
evil witches
roamed the land
flew in the air
witch bottles
were everywhere
home security for
protection against
witches’ curses
“remedy for
flipping a
curse back
on the witch”
according to
English astrologer
Joseph Blagrave
urine, three pins
or needles
a pinch of salt
sealed in a bottle
got yourself
a witch’s
bottled repellent
safeguarded
against
their harmful
spells
their deadly
curses
their nightly
home intrusions

mummified cats
in walls too
often stuffed
in new homes
for additional
protection
against witches
everywhere
superstitions
run amuck
innocent women
out of luck.
