without her love
without her support
his days grew longer
his nights became darker
his tears fell like monsoons
his heart kept falling apart
his life and mind became dispirited
heavy drinking and drugs became
his antidote for it all
served as his temporary relief
until he crashed and burned in his car
in a fiery collision with a tanker truck
whether it was by accident or on purpose
no one knows

First the frightening dark clouds rolled in
darkening what had been everyday blue skies.
They looked like massive avenging monsters,
They looked like an apocalypse had arrived.
Then the heavy rains pounded the planet
night and day night and day night and day.
Buildings and houses began to leak and leak and leak.
Floatable things not tied down floated away.
The streets became raging rivers
with dead bodies floating and sinking in
them like schools of bloated fish.
It rained so much cars became inoperable
Houses and mansions became submerged.
It rained so much people who didn’t have,
or couldn’t get on, boats died in the rising waters.
Helicopters and airplanes flew above it all for awhile
until they ran out of fuel and plunged into the waters.
And the whole world became a sea of the dead.

the seasons keep changing
and so do I

I went from the bright springtime of my life
into a warm and golden summer

I barely made it through the windy fall
with a cancer intent on killing me

now I’m in the cold winter of my life
with death approaching like the
stagnating ice and falling snow.

This life is so hard and so unfair for some people:
a baby born with cancer –
a girl born disabled –
a boy born fated to become bipolar –
a baby dumped in a dumpster –
a brilliant young woman murdered by a serial killer –
a teenage boy killed by a drunken driver –
a little girl kidnapped into prostitution.

The list goes on and on and on and on
and continues and continues and continues.
Why God Almighty does life have to be
like this for so unfortunate many?

a valedictorian in high school, he had
enormous potential for a phenomenal future.

he got accepted at three ivy league schools
and decided to attend princeton.

he got involved with the wrong people there
and became brainwashed and radicalized.

he participated in many protests for many causes
and became a celeb among his radical peers.

eventually he and his cohorts concocted a deadly plan
to assassinate a notoriously conservative president.

he volunteered to pull the trigger and end the president he hated
and go down in history books as a savior of his country.

on the designated day, he put a scarf over most of his face and concealed his gun
underneath a thick woolen jacket.

when he saw his target and his chance to kill him with a clear shot,
he pulled out the gun, took aim, pulled the trigger and missed

and six perfect shoots from the president secret service agents ended
his life, and his enormous potential for a brilliant future

was gone forever thanks to the ivy league college radicalization
and his being destructively brainwashed by it.

Seeing dead bodies
Seeing mutilated bodies
Seeing tortured bodies
Seeing battered and
burned dead children
Breaking the news to
families of a
murdered loved one,
being the bearer of
the worst news
you could give them
and feeling their pain
and sorrow personally.
These are some of
the serious duties
of a police officer

Bob Boyd

Once a police officer said to me,
“I don’t trust anyone.”

I thought that was extreme
until i watched many true crime shows.

Then I realized why he felt that way
and why it was justified.

Priests, ministers, doctors, lawyers, politicians
have all committed homicides.

Of course I’m not say all those professionals
turned out to be murderers.

But, astonishingly, some, perhaps many,
over the years – have.

Then there are many seemingly nice people
seemingly incapable of killing anyone
who have killed or had others killed.

Now I can see that were I a policeman and
seen what that policeman saw over the years,
I wouldn’t trust anyone either.

I don’t know exactly why
but I love the way she rolls her eyes.
She rolls them when she’s annoyed.
She rolls them when she dances.
And all her eye rolls tickle ineffable
joy in me everytime she does them.
Her eye rolls are better than a pint
of the tastiest ice cream I’ve ever had
and more heart warning than a hearty meal.

when he died he was unfulfilled
he’d lived a dull uneventful life
somehow he figured out how
to live a more exciting life
instead of going to the Light
he secretly entered into the
body of an adventurous guy
and lived an exciting life
with him until the guy died
then he soul hopped into a
playboy’s body and had
relationships with women
that he’d never had
he kept up the soul hopping
until his soul eventually
got wasted up and he
evaporated out of life
into unawareness and
eternal nothingness

it’s been over a decade since you left me
because you had many health problems
and didn’t want to burden me
in spite of my wanting to stand by you
and help you through your struggles
eventually i got over you years ago
and hadn’t thought about you in
a long time and was surprised
to see you in a dream last night
i was more surprised when
you didn’t recognize me and
turned away when I told you
who i was and never
spoke even a word to me
