When birds die, is there
no heaven for them?
Do birds just go to a lifeless
oblivion, and that’s it?
You may think this is silly, and
I don’t give a damn if you do,
but I hope that birds have
an afterlife like humans are
alleged to have.
But maybe the East has it right,
birds and all lifeforms keep
reincarnating up the ladder
of rebirths until they become
humans and eventually –
reach a heaven-like afterlife.
